Mandy, Manager Yellow Dot Nursery Andover

Hi, my name is Amanda Marsden, but most people call me Mandy. I am the Nursery Manager here in Andover. I have 14 years of experience and gained a BA (Hons) in Early Years whilst living on 3 continents, working full time and being a mum to 2 amazing young children.

I started as a childminder in 2005 when I started my Foundation Degree. As a family we moved to South Africa where I worked in an American International School working with 4-14 year olds but focusing on literacy with 6-7 year olds. I completed my Foundation Degree and extended to the BA, whilst also training as a swimming coach and lifeguard. We then moved to the Cayman Islands. I volunteered to help year 1 students with maths and teaching children to swim, then started at a Montessori School working with 2-3 year olds. I completed my BA (Hons) during my time in the beautiful Caribbean. We returned to the UK in 2016 and I worked temporarily with children who have behavioural and special needs. I started at Yellow Dot as a Senior Nursery Nurse in the Transition Room in March 2017, then became the Room Manager, then Deputy and now Manager! I have a passion for seeing children learn, develop and reach their full potential and I believe Yellow Dot is the perfect place for children to do this. I am a firm believer in working closely with families to ensure the best possible outcome for their children.

Our activities are founded on the Early Years Foundation Stage which focuses on:

We believe children and adults learn from each other and enrich each others lives. The Nursery is divided into four areas:
